The Numbers
- 172 magnet orders in a single day — 100 made on-site, 72 shipped later
- 52 magnets the day before at a different show
- 224 magnets in two days from one maker with one machine
One of our members, Cindy (community member), posted this after a weekend of back-to-back craft shows:

The post got 144 reactions and 47 comments — most of them asking the same questions: What machine? What printer? How do you print on-site? How much do you charge?
Cindy answered every single one. Here's her full setup.
Her Machine
Titan Press 2x2" with the matching graphic punch. One machine, one size. That's it.
She's not running three machines or juggling multiple formats. One press, dialed in, cranking out magnets all day.
Her Printer
Epson 8500. She brings it to every event.
When Wilda asked what she needs for on-site printing at her first show, and Deana asked how to hook up a printer at outdoor events, Cindy's answer was straightforward: bring the Epson, plug it into a portable power station, and go.
Her Power Setup
Jackery portable power station — electric, completely silent. No gas generator noise, no fumes. Works indoors and outdoors.
When Stacy asked if the generator is quiet, Cindy replied: "My generator is electric so it makes no noise."
This is one of the details new makers don't think about until their first outdoor event. You need power for the printer. A Jackery or EcoFlow solves it.
Her Design Tools
Canva templates plus NINEMAGS Live for on-site workflow.
When Stacy asked if she uses Canva, Cindy said: "Yes, plus I have Ninemags Live."
The combination gives her pre-made templates for quick turnarounds and live event software for processing customer photos on the spot.
Her Pricing
Cindy shared her exact pricing structure:
- $5.00 per magnet
- 4 for $18.00
- 6 for $24.00
- 9 for $29.00
- Bulk orders (50+): $3.00 each
This is a textbook bundle strategy. The single-magnet price anchors at $5, but the bundles give customers a reason to buy more. Four magnets at $18 feels like a deal compared to $20. Nine for $29 is a steal. Customers almost always trade up.
At $5 per magnet with a production cost under $0.30, that's over 16x markup on every single sale.
Her Payment Setup
When Bonnie asked what payment options she offers, Cindy listed all of them: "CashApp, Venmo, Zelle, tap to pay."
No friction. However a customer wants to pay, she can take it. This matters more than most new makers realize — if someone wants to buy but you can only take cash, you lose the sale.
The Math on Her Big Day
Let's run Cindy's numbers on that 172-magnet day.
If she averaged $5 per magnet (some singles, some bundles, some bulk), that's roughly $860 in revenue from one event.
Her material cost: 172 magnets × $0.27 = $46.44
Even after a booth fee of $50–$100, she walked away with $700+ in profit from a single day.
The day before, she made 52 magnets at another show. At similar pricing, that's another $250+ in revenue. Two days, roughly $1,000 in total revenue, under $75 in materials.
What Made It Work
Cindy didn't do anything complicated. She showed up with one machine, one printer, a power station, and a system for taking orders fast.
A few things worth noting:
She had help. Cindy mentioned being "beyond thankful for an amazing friend who jumped in to help today." At 172 orders, you need a second pair of hands. Plan for it when you book bigger events.
She made magnets on-site. 100 of the 172 were made right there. Customers watched the process, which drives more sales. The other 72 she took as orders for delivery — a smart overflow strategy when demand exceeds your production speed.
She collects sales tax. When Tina asked about it, Cindy confirmed she does. This is something every maker selling at events needs to set up. It's usually free to register with your state.
She keeps it local. When Linda asked about shipping boxes, Cindy said: "Most of my magnets are picked up locally, with no shipping." Craft shows and local pickup keep her overhead minimal.
The Takeaway
Cindy isn't doing anything you can't do. She has one Titan Press, one Epson printer, a power station, and a pricing structure that works.
The difference is she showed up. Two shows in two days. 224 magnets. Roughly $1,000 in revenue.
That's the business.
